What a huge shock to hear of Kit’s passing. She was in Peter’s life from his childhood having lived with them for some time whilst in London. Since then she was always included in family celebrations so she will be sadly missed. Her elegance and individuality were much admired. May Jim, Nuala, Helen and Eddie have consolation at this very sad time knowing you are in our thoughts and prayers as is Kit.

Helen, Jim and all the Brennan family my sincere sympathy on Kit’s passing. In 2005 we met Kit who lived next door to the one we bought. She was one beautiful person with her happy sunny disposition. May her gentle soul now Rest In Peace

I met kit in SB&P in Dublin in 1962 and we became firm friends, living in a flat in Ranelagh with Nuala and Jim for a while before we decided to take off for the brighter lights of London. Starting in a tiny bedsitter sharing a bathroom and kitchen with Ted Hughes (our claim to fame!) we quickly moved on to a much bigger abode with other Irish girls. Such fun, unforgettable times.

Over the years we holidayed together with my husband David, walking in various countries and sharing cottages in England. Kit never married but it certainly not for the want of proposals! I will miss our thrice-weekly calls very much indeed.

Every sympathy to the whole Brennan family and many thanks for the welcome you have always shown me. Thankyou to Jacinta in particular for caring for Kit in this last difficult year.

Rest in peace Kit. Good memories of Kit from knowing her through the church in Ardkeen hospital and the friendship we had. Hearty sympathies to all the family.

We offer our sincere condolences to all of Kit’s family on their very great loss. Kit was irrepressible and irreplaceable.

In 1966 Kit and four other Irish girls (including me) set up a flat in London NW3. We were like a very supportive family and we had lots of fun in those magical years. Kit’s sister Joan (RIP) joined us for a while. We all worked hard but also enjoyed being in London in magical times when we were young. Most of us remained in close touch over the following decades when we all ended up in different places. We will miss her terribly but there are many happy memories.

In hindsight, it was lovely that Kit returned to her roots in Waterford and was able to spend so much time with her own most supportive family.
