Kitty Flynn

I've just heard of this irreparable loss to Kilbeggan.

The fine tributes already capture Kitty's many qualities: an open mind, boundless energy spread across varied community interests, and a willingness to help anyone. Her youthful optimism enabled her to be such a stalwart if the wheels began to wobble perilously on someone's project!

Living in England enabled me to see another aspect of Kitty's life, as her book on the GAA delighted Irish folk exiled for decades. They had lost much, but names within the pages restored something of that loss.

She remains a superb example to Kilbeggan's youth.

Rest in peace Kitty. You were an inspiration to us all & will be missed by so many.

Kitty epitomised the best of Kilbeggan, and made the history and the heritage of the town so interesting. She had such a curiosity and energy for life, it was infectious. She will be fondly remembered as a true example of a life very well lived.

Kitty was my teacher during third class in Kilbeggan school during which time she encouraged a deep love for nature and wild flowers. I consider it an honour to have been one of Kitty's 'children' in life.
Fond memories and greatly inspired by her life which was extremely well lived.

So sad to hear of the passing of Kitty. An extraordinary human being and an exceptional woman who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her great love of Kilbeggan and the tremendous work she did for the Community will be her outstanding legacy. Rest well Kitty in the arms of the Angels.
