Joseph and I were blessed to have visited with Kitty on Sunday, October 22, 2023 while we were over on holidays from New York. Many times Kitty would pick me up at Dublin Airport and we would spend the day together going to lunch, or Temple Bar or the Book of Kells @ Trinity. She would then drop me off at Dublin Airport and I would continue on to Glasgow or Edinburgh or wherever the next pipe band event was. I learned most of our family history from Kitty. I learned much of our Irish history from her as well. While Kitty was really my mother's first cousin, I always referred to her as my Aunt Kitty. She actually visited me at my home in Washington D.C. (1979?) while I was in college when she was over on holidays and visited JFK's grave with my parents. I share all this because I want my (2nd) cousins to know how much your Mom meant to me. How I will miss her dearly. I miss her very much right now! Joseph has traveled to Ireland with me three times and each time we were able to spend time with Kitty. She made a great impression upon him and he learned much about our family history and Irish history from Aunt Kitty. Kitty will be greeted in heaven by three fine O'Tighearnaigh men whom she missed greatly while she shared her life with us. God Bless you my Aunt Kitty. You are forever in my heart. Dear Cait, Siobhan, Michael and Lorcan, my sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. She was a wonderful warm and fun woman with great insight into people and I adored her. So many cherished memories of my summers in Dublin with all of you and your mom. From letting me drive the car on Dollymount strand to spotting bargains at the auction houses along the Quays and the conversations over cocktails at Ardfert House. I will raise my next glass in her memory and pray that she rests in eternal peace. Condolences also on the loss of your brothers Seamus and Eoin. Gone too soon.
