Srinivasan Maama is more than just a friend to us. We consider his family as our extended family and he has always been a fatherly figure to us. While we were in Ireland, there is no family function we had without Srinivasan Maama and Gowri Maami with us. I recall during Rama's first son's first birthday function in Dundrum, Maama called me and said since he does not have a son, I have to do the rituals as a maternal uncle to the child. I will relish on that moment forever. It was by God's grace that we got introduced to the couple some 20 plus years ago and ever since had remained blessed and guided by them. It is a great loss for not just the family but to the entire Indian community in Ireland. His grace in handling any situation without ever uttering one harsh word is something for all of us to learn although difficult to put in practice. May his soul rest in peace and god give the strength to Gowri Maami and family in this difficult time.

Listening to Shari in the past few years about her father and the closeness of his family brought home what a kind man he was. He was also megabrave in the face of an inexorable illness. His last trip home to India was a tremendous exhibition of will power. He will be hugely missed as evidenced by the magnetism of his personality and character which shone through his daughters. Shari was my first Senior registrar and was followed later by Rama. I feel I show them for a long time. No matter how you know whats coming, it is always a shattering experience. Dr. Srinivasan mama (as we affectionately called him) and Gowri mami were one of the first families that Vidya and I were fortunate to meet in the first few months of moving to Dublin. Be it good or bad times, they have always supported and guided us as elders, which helped us to settle well in Ireland.
Mama was very instrumental in guiding our children Akshay and Nisha and they remember him very fondly and talk about him even now.
I looked up to him and learnt a lot from him while working with him in IVT. His commitment, passion, dedication, ethics and integrity towards building a Hindu temple in Dublin were laudable. He was someone who was always truthful, had good intentions and was extremely genuine in every situation.
We will always remember Mama as an inspirational figure. He had a great sense of humour which brought a smile to our faces many times.
May his soul rest in peace and also hope Gowri mami and family find strength and courage to get through this very difficult time.

Dear Rama, Shari, I am very sorry to hear of your dear father’s passing. Thinking of you and your families at this very sad time.

Losing someone after knowing him as a friend for six decades is difficult to bear. After losing contact with him for many years I remember fondly when he came with Gowri to attend my daughter’s wedding in Donegal and acted as an interpreter in her wedding reception in Vienna. My association with him for six years in the sixties in Bangalore doing our Ph.D were memorable where he not only showed his leadership qualities and also as a senior member of our group was giving advice on various matters. I was lucky to have met him just three months back in his house in Dublin where he was undergoing treatment. He was in great spirit and it is comforting to know that he was with his whole big family near him when he breathed his last. That is a great blessing and luxury today in the midst of COVID 19 pandemic. He had a full family life and will be dearly missed . May his soul rest in PEACE. OM Nama Sivaya. Hara Hara Mahadev!

I still remember the day I first met you and mama on a cold night in 1999 at your home in Stillorgan for dinner and the cool jokes he would add casually to the conversation.
