You have my deepest condolences and will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I was Kyle’s Platoon Commander during our 2014 deployment to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. We were with 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, Alpha Company, First Platoon. Kyle was certainly among the finest Marines I have ever had the honor to serve with. From the moment he joined our platoon, Kyle made an indelible mark and impression on the unit, on his fellow Marines, and on myself. Kyle truly was one of the Marines who made up the backbone of our platoon. We all became better people and better Marines because of Kyle’s warmth, his professionalism, his discipline, and his friendship. You will forever be in my prayers. May hope, peace, and comfort find you during this difficult time.
