On monday a bright chilly February morning we laid Larry to rest in St Michael's Tinnehinch in the beautiful Barrow Valley. Kathleen, Laurence, Helen, Tom, Mary Kate, and all his wonderful grandchildren you did him proud and gave him the best send off. He would have loved it.

Dear Kathleen,
It is with deep sadness that Ann and I have learned that your beloved Latty has died RIP.
I met him not that long ago in Dunnes of Cornelscourt after a visit to The Beacon Hospital. I too have been attending The Beacon and we discussed the pros and cons of our respective illnesses. It wouldn’t be Larry if we didn’t also discuss the current political happenings but local and National.
Larry was a very committed local politician in Dunlaoghaire/ Rathdown and also as a member of Seaned Éireann
He worked tirelessly for his constituents and indeed Fianna Fáil for many years.
We have fond memories of assisting Larry in his local election campaigns and the hospitality shown to us by both of you in your home in Mart Lane.
We regret we were unable to attend his Funeral but remembered him in our prayers.

I’m sorry to learn of the death of our former Cathaoirleach. Larry was a gentleman whom I got to know through the political world many years ago. He was always kind and good humoured and very pleasant company. My sincere sympathies to his family at this sad time. As a mark of respect to Larry our county flag will be flown at half mast over County Hall, Dún Laoghaire tomorrow 16th February the day of his funeral.
