I only found out about Lar's sad demise today Sunday 22nd on Dublin live. I recognized his beaming friendly smile immediately having worked on shifts with him in a petrol station in the 90s. He loved talking to people, knew everyone by name and had time for all. Rip "Flowery" my old friend. You were one of a kind and the world you lived in will be a sadder place without you. How I would have loved to help you out in some way.

Deepest sympathies to all the Byrne family& Lars son Gerard. I knew Lar for a long time & hoped to know him for a lot longer. He had an infectious smile that would light up a dark day. I have great memories of the fun we had be it football or just larking about ( i even gave him chicken pox back in the day). Some of our older chats were a thing of beauty. One of a kind who will be remembered & spoken about with great fondness for years to come.
