My thoughts & Prayers are with you Nan, May & Kathleen , & all the extended family of our dear Bishop Laurence on your recent sad loss. I personally felt a great loss for this lovely man whom I have known since he became Chaplain in the Dominican Convent, Sion Hill, many years ago. He was also in school in Roscrea with my late brother who was junior to him in the College. I kept in contact with him all the years as I was Teacher & Vice Principal in Kilkenny City Vocational School & we met every year on his Annual visit to the Leaving Cert. students, which they loved. He helped me anytime I had a problem relating to my work or my personal life & finally honoured me with his presence at my retirement party in the Newpark Hotel in 1998.
I know he is at peace now safe in the arms of Jesus & Mary . With deepest sympathy to all of you. From,
Moyra McCarthy.

Sincere sympathy to all the Forristal family and to the many friends of Bishop Larry on his leaving us for his heavenly home. He proved to be a true messenger of the good news and will be missed by all of us. Ar dheis go raibh a anam dilis!
I first met Bishop Larry in 1995 when he called to see me with a mutual friend to administer the sacrament of the sick. With the grace of God I am here 23 years late to pay my respects to a truly wonderful disciple.
On his advice I undertook a BA with Maynooth University (Kieran’s College Campus). He supported me throughout and checked in regularly to see how I was getting on.
I looked forward to our visits, which always started with me saying Bishop Larry - I won’t keep you long (a short visit usually last at least 2 hours)!
Larry, whilst you didn’t like fuss and wanted a simple funeral, your passing was marked with beautiful music, prayer and church and family tributes that were a just tribute to one of my hero’s. RIP.

May dear Bishop Forristal rest in peace! Condolences to his family!
My sympathies to all family, friends bishops etc. may the good Lord smile on him forever. I’ve known .Fr Larry since his days as curate in Corpus Christi Dublin. As priest we met on many occasions and he always enthused me as priest and as person. I always left him a better person. One annecdote. At Bishop Ryan’s funeral, at the graveside he thumped me in back saying “ A good rehearsal for my funeral with so many references to Bishop Larry”!!
As i am in hospital at present I won’t be at funeral. I will remember him in next Mass I celebrate. Ar dheis De go raibh se

God rest his soul.
A true Kilkenny person in his living years always good for conversation and good intelligent jokes , that required a fast intellect . Go In PEACE to a state of existence that relinquishes living on this spec of a planet .
Sincere condolences to Nan, May, Kathleen and all the extended Forristal family on the death of Bishop Lar.
It is with deep regret we learned today of the death of our beloved Bishop Forristall. He was a loyal priest and Bishop to us his flock here in Ossory. His kindness and pride in his Diocese always shone through all his actions. This was most evident in his pride in our various hurling teams of all ages and abilities throughout the years, indeed when our colors were lowered (which was too often in reality) it was then that his presence and support was most notable. He was simply a lovely kind man, who loved every inch of his Diocese was in return was deeply loved by us his flock. Well done thou good and faithful servant may you now rest in peace, and gain the graces which you truly deserve.
May he rest in peace. A true gentleman .
Sincere condolences to May, Kathleen , Nan and all the extended Forristal family on the death of Bishop Lar.

It was an honour to be one of your carers in GANH over the past few years. We will sadly miss you from our community. Rest in Peace Bishop Forristal.
Bishop Larry - One of the 'Precious Threads' from the Fabric of our Gowran Abbey Nursing Home Family has sadly left us.
We will miss him dearly and are truly blessed that he has been part of the Gowran Abbey Family for so long.
His kindness and gentle smile will be missed by all of us who have been personally and collectively enriched by his spiritual guidance and support during his 'Retirement Ministry' years in Gowran Abbey.
We offer our condolences to his sisters, May, Kathleen and Nan, to his nieces and nephews, to all his extended family, to the priests, religious, friends, and to the many people whose lives like ours, he touched throughout his almost 63 years of priestly and episcopal ministry.
'May The Road Rise To Meet Him, May The Choirs Of Angels Come To Greet Him In Paradise, And May God Hold Him In The Palm Of His Hand'. R.I.P.
