To Elizabeth and Lauren, I am so deeply sorry to hear of Larry's passing. Larry exuded care and compassion for the ladies in his life. An inspiring gentleman with a compassionate heart and the biggest smile.

May Larry's beautiful soul rest gently in peace.

Condolences to Elizabeth and Lauren on the death of Larry, a gentleman, who'd always say hello or chat when tending to Mary's front garden. May Larry rest in peace.

I am saddened to learn that Larry had passed from this life and I would like to extend my sympathies to his wife, Elizabeth, his daughter, Lauren, his brothers Vincent and Des and to the wider Broderick family.
For many years as a member of the IBOA I just relied on Larry and the Executive of the IBOA to look after the members' interests.
However, in the latter years of my banking career I was appointed as a Branch and a regional secretary for the IBOA. By attending national meetings I was introduced more closely to the skills of strategy, planning and communication - getting tremendous assistance from Larry Broderick himself. I found him to be very patient, helpful and approachable, especially when he broke up the attendees into small "resolution" committees. He helped us to 1. Develop & crystallise our grievances and our ideas for change, 2. link all our contributions into common resolutions and 3. be clear in our communication so that our messages would not be confusing and could be understood quickly.
I saw at first hand the painstaking effort he put into his work for the members of the Association/Union and the skills he had. He will be remembered with respect. May he rest in peace. Michael O'Riordan, Cork.

He was so devoted to both of you and always telling us how proud he was of his two girls. He was a fantastic boss and looked after us all really well. So sad to hear of Larry taken way before his time. Went to same school couple years behind( in Vincent’s group). I remember Larry as a formidable chap ,outstanding on the football field. An excellent role model for us “younger”. Students. RIP Larry.

There have not been very many General Secretarys in the history of IBOA / FSU, but there is no doubt in our mind but that Larry experienced the most difficult tenure of them all. Faced with the fatal collapse of the major financial institutions, he worked tirelessly to protect the future of his members as well as contributing to the recovery of the industry. He did not shy away from this "cup" and faced it with a resolve that the membership will never forget him for. We owe him our greatest gratitude forever. Rest in Peace Larry.

It was with great shock and saddness that I learned of the passing Laurence. I send my sincere sympathies and condolences to his wife Elizabeth and daughter Lauren.
I was privileged to have taught him for 2 years, in 5th and 6th class in primary school.
He was a dream pupil in every, lighting up the classroom with his enthusiasm and engaging wholeheartedly in every aspect of school life.
On the playing field he inspired his team mates to strive for success. It was little wonder that he was picked for the Dublin team, with whom he had great success with at underage level.

My Dad who has dementia and Parkinson’s worked with Larry a long time ago and had a great respect and always said that Larry made a big impression on him .I only knew Larry from the stories that my Dad told. A true true humanitarian, always fought for justice for the worker . He will be missed. R.I.P. Larry .

Dear Liz and Lauren,
Larry loved you both to bits. You are his strong and beautiful women. He was always so proud of you both and talked about you all the time (and of course his beloved mother, RIP).
IBOA/FSU was in Larry’s bloodstream, he always, always, had member’s interests at heart and worked so hard for the Union. I am honoured to have worked with him for 26 years. He was the best IR negotiator I have ever met because he could always relate to the ‘other side’ and he never gave up. He was the guy you always wanted in your corner.
Liz and Lauren, you are heartbroken, but you always know that Larry is standing right there beside you in your corner. .

I didn’t know him too well as he had left Dowland Road when I was quite young but I remember Phyllis always spoke of him with pure admiration and, on the rare occasions we met he was wonderful company - so charming and full of fun.
