So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. We always worked well together, and I have to be especially grateful for thoughtful interventions he made on two occasions that aided my career in Aer Lingus.

It was with great sadness that I learnt of Larry’s passing. He was such a kind gentleman and a person of absolute integrity and honesty - it was a real privilege to have worked with him and to have learnt so much from his imparted wisdom. At this difficult time, Celia, I want to wish you peace and harmony, knowing that Larry has had a full life with you and your family and that he’s left an honourable legacy of invaluable contributions to many in his private life, society and across the world. He will be fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.

To Celia and family
So sorry to hear about Larry's passing. Most interesting to see how many others, in passing condolences, highlighted his always being ready and willing to take time to help and advise. I was one of those recipients for two years in Nassau. I will always remember our periodic trips, in an aerocommander, at about 200 feet above sea level, with about ten visits per day and usually being diverted somewhere to collect a prisoner for return to Nassau. I was lucky to meeting him after the Bahamas; Larry was the epitome of a gentleman.
May he rest in peace.
— Norman and Nora Crampton

V ery sorry to learn of Larrys passing. There was a time when I had not the means to get home from London after a robbery. Larry who barely knew me at that time put up his hand and very kindly came to the rescue. He has always had my gratitude for that.
I have met him now and then in recent years and found him unchanged as a person. Still the nice quietly spoken bloke after his great career in Aer Lingus
My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Larry was one of the good guys . May he rest in peace.

Worked for Larry when he was Chairman of Futura in Palma in 2000-2002.
He was always supportive and more than willing to impart his extensive industry knowledge. A true gentleman with a great sense of humour and keen wit.
I have taken the liberty to advise his former colleagues in Futura in Palma of the sad news

I am sad to learn of Larry's demise and extend my condolences to his family.

Larry was unlucky in the external events which drove his times heading Aer Lingus, most obviously 9/11. These meant he was often inheriting crises and picking up the pieces.

Positive events in his days beyond survival of Aer Lingus. They include the decision to take the Airbus A321 and the original deal with the oneworld alliance. He also contributed to other airline/aviation ventures at home and away.

May he rest in piece.
— Antoin Daltún
