A true gentleman. Worked together early 70s. Took me out of a lot of trouble as a young Garda. He himself was a great policeman.Hated paperwork but knew how to catch villains. Met him last year for the first time in 20 years. Hadn't changed a bit. My condolences to all the family. Be very proud of him.

So sorry to hear of Larrys passing. He fought a brave battle until the end and had such a warm loving nature that always made me smile. To Margaret, Yvonne and all Larrys family my sympathies to you all.

Rest in peace Larry. A good neighbour and friend. I've known him for more than 50 years. A kind and helpful man who cared for the community and neighbourhood. Sending my sincere condolences to all the Duffy family on the terrible loss of Larry.

We had no rushes this year to make the Crosses for St Brigid. Larry was a regular supplier in the past. Larry was a big man with strong views. He was a man of deep faith expressed in a way that differed to some of us. He was at home in some churches and less comfortable in others. We missed him in Rivermount but some of us were less interested in commenting on Facebook than he was! He sorted us out on computing. He sorted out every occasion with his photography. He did promise us a breakfast which got scuttled by his final sickness. Larry lived too in the pain of the Stardust memories. He went to his God very peacefully.

I am so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I had the privilege to work in Santry with him in 1980-82. A fearless colleague who always stood up for what was right. A fearless Garda representative who often was the sole line of defense between a young guard and oppressive authorities. I have vivid memories of him with his Belstaff motorbike gear on (which were not at all waterproof) riding around Coolock on the Santry bike, a Honda CX 500 as we walked the beat. He would always stop and enquire of us young guards how we were doing. A man of great empathy. However good heaven is, it will be a better place when Larry joins its ranks. To all of Larry's family, please accept mt deepest sympathy at this sad time. RIP.
