Dear Miriam and David, There is no doubt that there is a huge rip in the curtain that surrounds the lives of all those who knew and loved Laurie and there are so many in that group. I think it is impossible to think of anyone who met her, even in passing, who were not touched with a sense of delight, a warming of the heart and a gladness to have had some time with her. To Lee, she was a genius and he rested easy when she was in any production he was involved with - not only as a consummate professional, but for her creative collaboration and her generosity. I think of the two of them now, if golden spirits laugh, they are.

Rest in peace dear Laurie. We will remember you with a smile. Your native town is very proud of you

Laurie was a great friend of and to my mother Maire Cranny. They soldiered together in later years.
Mum loved her. And especially her storytelling and imaginative and generous company.
Laurie had extraordinary talent and a true sense of humour and huge wit.
She was always a pleasure to meet. She carried all her national theatre, TV, and creativity so lightly on her shoulders.
She was a gift to know.
