We are deeply saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of Leigh. We had the pleasure of including Leigh in our recent filming for the Walking and Cycling Index. Leighs positivity and determination was a joy to capture. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Leigh's Husband, Son, Daughter & family at this difficult time. I met Leigh through my work with the HSE and always found her to be an inspiring and fair-minded advocate. She had much to teach us and was always respectful with a great sense of humour. I was shocked and saddened to belatedly hear of Leigh's untimely and unexpected recent death. The world is a lesser place as a result. Leigh, your courage, compassion, determination, humanity and brilliant sense of humour will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to Eugene, Karl and Aisling and to Leigh's wider family. May she rest in eternal peace.

Deepest sympathies to Leigh’s husband son daughter & extended family. I was lucky enough to meet Leigh through my late aunty. Leigh, a passionate lady who gave those without a voice a voice, Leigh gave my aunt a voice that was heard, Leigh your legacy will live on and your work brought you to many places the length of this country however most importantly it brought change for the better, I will forever be grateful for having Leigh in our corner and the support Leigh gave us as a family she cared and that was so evident in her work.. there will never be anyone like you again Leigh but let “don’t tell me I can’t” drive us all to continue your work where you left off you where one of life’s rare ones.

It is with great sadness l heard of Leighs passing. My sincere condolences to Leighs husband and family. She was a remarkable and truly inspirational lady. Personally l am forever grateful for all she did for my daughter and l know for many others. She was the voice that was respected and listened too, which ultimately changed lives for the better as a result of her intervention in many cases including mine.

I used to Remember Leigh calling into Enable Ireland a couple years ago to give a talk about our rights, Disability people who have the right to a good life that they deserve and Leigh gave a lifelong of advocacy for the disability. She will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in Peacefully in Heaven.

Sincere Condolences to Eugene, Karl, Aisling, along with the Gath and Loy families on the sad passing of a wonderful person Leigh.
A great woman like Leigh, went straight through the gates of Heaven, for the trojan work that she did on her journey of life. What was so remarkable - the thoughts that she emphasized - in helping other people like myself who lives with a disability.
I really enjoyed listening to her funeral mass on the laptop - where she pointed out the great difficulty for people to get unto the footpaths, when they use their Powerchairs or Wheelchairs, that's one of many things, as the list is endless.
I really and truly enjoyed our chats around The Crescent S.C. whenever we met and her constant smiles that she always shared with those - who needed a smile.
May Leigh and all our loved ones R.I.P. Amen.

We are deeply aggrieved to hear of this news! Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family at this incredibly difficult time. We didn't personally know Leigh! But, as a fellow Thalidomide victim the loss of a beneficiary is not only seen as losing a brother/sister, it is also reminds us of just how significant important our time is together.
