Regina, Grace, Pat and Michael, as well as all the family and so many friends who adored Lena, I am thinking of and praying for you all. Lena was such a unique person, constantly thinking of others, wishing everyone well during good times and there to support people during difficult times. There was always a call at the door, a telephone call with words of encouragement, a card with positive and thoughtful words, whatever suited the occasion.

Lena was dearly loved and cherished by all. Rest in peace Lena.

I offer my deepest sympathy to all of Lena's family, her grandchildren, huge circle of relatives and friends, on her recent passing. She really was a truly remarkable and pioneering person. A trailblazer, full of kindness, support and concern. She was so good to my parents and never forgot the Bantry connection.

I am so sorry that when I heard, it was too late to attend the funeral but I believe that people queued for hours to pay their respects. May Lena rest in peace after a life very well lived.

Regina, Grace, Pat, Michael and families, I was so very sad to hear of the passing of your beautiful mother Lena and sorry to miss her funeral.

When I was a child, Lena was the most beautiful and effortlessly elegant lady I had ever seen. On top of that, she was so kind and caring. A woman who was widowed so young, yet was courageous and resourceful.

May her magnificent soul rest in peace.

There are sometimes people who leave a lasting impression on others through their actions. Throughout my life, I often heard my mother talking of a very gifted and caring midwife in St Finbarr's Hospital who stayed with her through a difficult labour and delivered me safely in the mid 1950s.
In the years that followed, my mother met the young midwife, Lena, several times. My mother never forgot Lena who was a beautiful and very special person. Sympathies to Lena's family on their loss.

I would very much like to convey my sympathy to Lena's family on the passing of a most selfless, considerate and kind lady. She was a founding member of the Samaritans in Cork over 50 years ago. She provided and volunteered a listening ear, a warm smile and comfort to so many who needed that extra little bit of support. May she rest in peace.

A great neighbour and friend of our family in Melbourn. Many friendships and relationships connect our families over many decades and throughout it all Mrs Daly’s gracious, gentle and elegant presence. In loving memory of one of our mother’s (Eileen O’Connell nee Paul) closest friends Lena Daly. My brothers and I have known Lena for most of our lives. A powerhouse of energy, a tower of strength and a repository of wise advice. She lived her life loving her family and helping everyone. Her kindness knew no bounds and included making a Christmas Cake for us every year since our dear mother died. A well loved mother and friend who left this world a better place. Reunited in heaven with her husband, family and all her dear friends who have gone before her. One of life’s true angels has gained her wings. It is the end of an era to hear that Lena has passed on to her reward. She lived a tremendous life helping everyone she met on life's journey.
