Sincere condolences to Kate and to Leo’s extended family on your sad loss. Leo was a long-term member of our original musical group, The Marian Musical & Dramatic Society, in Skerries. He is well remembered as a funny and friendly character, popular with all, who would belt out a tune at the drop of a hat - and what a voice he had. We remember him especially for his renditions of Ol’ Man River, and his portrayal of Fagin in ‘Oliver’ and Judd in ‘Oklahoma’. Rest in Peace Leo.

Sorry I couldn't be there to see you off, Uncle Leo. There may be tears of sadness all around at the moment, but you brought tears of laughter to me and many, many others for decades. I never knew a story that wasn't better for you telling it or even - as was often the case - for you being in it!

I do feel sorry for whoever the lead soloist of the heavenly choir is, as they will now have to step aside - and as Tom Lehrer still isn't there yet, you can teach them his songs to prepare the way,

And also show them how to be convincing when you're a Dub singing an old spiritual from the Deep South, For when all around was chaos, quite possibly of your own endearingly oblivious doing, "Ol' Man Leo just kept rollin' along..." Until we meet again, thank you for all the laughter and wonderful memories.

My deepest, heartfelt sympathy to Kate, Alice, Peter and Jane and to Leo's grandchildren on his death. May Leo rest in peace.

A friend of my father, but a man I considered my first adult friend, gained when I was a young teenager in the early 90s.
He'd show up sometimes when my parents were absent, so I'd invite him in anyway, feed him a leftover dinner, make the tea and we'd hang out and have a great laugh for hours. We'd watch TV together while chatting and he'd eventually pass out on the recliner! Sometimes he'd head off without either of my parents ever getting home! Hilarious!!!
Learning that friendship has no age barrier, it was time well spent for that young man. 
He was extremely good to me in those troubled years, exactly when I needed it...bigging me up and inspiring me, helping me to gain the confidence to pursue my dream of one day becoming a professional musician. 
Bringing me to my first singing lessons and showing me that with mentorship and drive, one can become a master of their art within ten years, which he himself did. I learned so much from him as a musician...seeing him sing, with his amazing voice, big smile and dramatic performance taught me so much about how to command a room, which became a very valuable life skill.
I'll miss my good friend Leo... I'm forever grateful for those fond memories of him and of the privileged life I've gotten to lead with his help and inspiration. His positive legacy remains in many, and I'm fortunate to say that I'm included in that. 
I'll rejoice with a song in your honour brother...thanks a million for everything and rest well.

Condolences to all of Leo’s family, my memories of Leo are from the mid 80’s to early 90’s when he was a wallpaper salesman, he would be showing us wallpaper samples in a shop where I worked, when he would suddenly burst into a verse and chorus from a song, he’d follow that up with a few jokes, A lovely jolly man. May he rest in peace.
