So sorry to hear of Leo’s passing.

I think I was about 10 or 11 circa 1967 ?? . He came to Drogheda from Dundalk and if you came from Dundalk you had to be extra good to impress here. And he was.! We played him up front and he certainly knew where the goals were. Autograph hunting was a big pastime in those days and unlike some of the boorish players at the time Leo was always pleasant and would spend time signing countless autographs when the game was over. I was very sad to see the passing of Leo, he was a former teammate at Dundalk FC and played at centre half in the historic European match in Zurich in 1963. Great memories, Leo was a quiet soul who was a great teammate that I shared many happy memories. May Leo rest in peace from your former captain.
