May we offer our sincere sympathies on the sad passing of León to his wife Esther, his sons Diarmuid, Niall, and León Óg, his daughter-in-law Catherine, his grandchildren Niall Óg and Nóra, his sisters Nóra and Ann, his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My parents held León in the highest regard and he was truly a pillar of society in Mountmellick. He was always ready to offer help where he could with kindness and a generosity of character that meant so much to so many. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and a friendly word leaving a lasting impression on all who met him.

Sincere condolences to Leon's wife Esther and his family and friends on his recent sad passing. Leon was one of my great teachers in Borris Vocational School 'way back in 1962/63. I learnt a lot from him, and he was always so kind and respectful. I was lucky to bump into Leon in Borris several times in more recent years, and I always enjoyed the banter and the reminiscences.

Due to illness, I was unable to attend Leon's funeral, but I did watch the Funeral Mass online.

May Leon Rest in Peace.

I was just saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Barry RIP.

I worked as Mr Barry’s Secretary at Mountmellick Vocational School from 1985 until his early retirement in 1988. He was a Gentleman and a pleasure to work with.

One particular memory remains !!
I was typing a letter dictated by Mr Barry regarding a student getting more and more troublesome and, I, in error, typed “more and more and more” and when I gave him the letter (for signature), he left the office, walked down the corridor to his Woodwork Room singing the late Joe Dolan’s song “MORE and MORE and MORE” at the top of his voice. (Giving all a good laugh on the day.

My Deepest Condolences to Mr Barry’s lovely wife Esther, three sons, grand daughter and grand son, daughter in law, his two sisters and extended family.

So sorry I was unable to attend funeral but you all were / still are, very much in my thoughts and prayers.
