When I first joined St. Kilian's I didnt know anyone yet Leon was nothing but welcoming to me, taking me under his wing and becoming my best friend. I'll never forget Leon showing me his impressive lego collection and to this day I cherish the memories of playing chasing in the schoolyard. Although I had not seen Leon in a number of years, doing athletics I often thought about his incredible speed. I was never able to get away from him in the yard and every year the most I could hope for at sports day was 2nd place. It was a pleasure knowing him and I will never forget the impact Leon had on my life.

When I knew him, Leon was someone who always wore his heart on his sleeve and was unapologetically himself. From what I've heard, he never stopped being that way. I am blessed to have called him a best friend at one point.

Thank you, Alexandra and Stephen, for always having me over and for putting up with our mischief. Some of my best and most cherished memories from my childhood and life come from the time Leon and I spent messing around together. I will never forget him, and it will probably never feel truly real to me. Leon was one of a kind.

Dear Mara and Stephen. I will never forget our family reunion in Dunmore East and talking with Leon, he gave me drinks and my first hot port and told me stories and jokes. I thought he was so cool and always wanted to meet him again. For some reason we've always had a picture of him sailing in Philomena and my desk drawer. He looked so free. I love you and am thinking of you both right now.

Leon was an extraordinary, unique and interesting guy. I am lucky to have known him as a classmate and a friend. He was never shy to check in with me, have a laugh or get up to some mischief.
