Sad news and my condolences to all of Leonard’s family and friends. I’ve happy childhood memories of Leonard, he will always be Lenny to me, growing up in Marian Park. We fished, spent hours on our bikes, stole apples, listened to the album Band-on- the-Run repeatedly. Spent hours building model airplanes and battleships with the wireless in the background. I recall Lenny’s early fascination with BSA motors bikes. We traveled/hitchhiked/camped to a Rory Gallagher festival in Marcroom/Cork and went to Carrick-on-Shannon for a boating and fishing adventure.

Shocked to hear of Lennie's passing, and I would like to offer each and every one of his immediate family relatives and friends my deepest sympathy and condolences. I actually know nobody from Lennie's family but I knew Lennie really well when he lived down here in campile and I often brought him home. He was one of the nicest fellows you could ever meet and I had a lovely chat with him last year when I met him in Waterford. I am so sorry that I cannot be at his funeral as I will not be in the country until Monday but I do promise to visit his grave.Rest easy my good friend,it was truly great to have known you
