Our sincerest condolences to Denise and all the family - we're very sorry to hear about Leslie's passing. He was my guitar teacher for decades since I was a student in Newpark school, and I enjoyed many lessons with him over the years since then. He was always kind, encouraging, full of good humour, and inspiring; a true gentleman and a wonderful teacher.

Sincere condolences to the family of Leslie our dear colleague for many years. I remember him bringing his grand-daughter, of whom he was so proud, to music lessons in Rathmines. I have fond memories of him on the corridors of Chatham Row. He always had time for a friendly chat and a laugh with colleagues. A true gentleman.

I am very sad to hear about Leslie's passing. It has been a very long time since we last met but I have never forgotten my best guitar teacher and the friendship we had during that time back in the 80s. Condolences to Denise and family. Many guitars will gently weep tonight.

Leslie was such a sweet natured man; full of good humour and yet sincerely passionate about his music making and teaching. I am flooded with warm recollections today of how encouraging and kind he was to me. If I made a mistake in a lesson when performing for him, I remember that before correcting me he would good naturedly say, ''Ah, I see you are composing again.'' Rest in peace Maestro. How lucky we all were to have known you.

For me and so many other people Leslie became far more than a teacher and for that I’ll always be grateful. Our lessons were the highlight of every week. Of course I’ll never forget his brilliant playing which always kept me inspired - his wise words always solved any problem: decades later I still quote his advice to my own students - but it’s his understanding, kindness and generosity that I’ll miss the most.

I was shocked and saddened to my core when I learned of your passing Leslie. I am so sorry that we won’t get around to playing the duets that we spoke about not that long ago. You maybe lost to us all now but your legacy lives on through the thousands of students who were blessed to have studied with you. Very sad to hear of the passing of my cousin Leslie I have many childhood memories of when the family lived in Lennox Street I always remember him plucking away at the guitar he was self taught in those early days and I would ask him to play a Beatles song he went on to do greater things in his life . My sincere condolences go to his dear wife Denise , his brother Kenneth and all the rest of his beautiful family at this very sad time. I now live in Thailand and will light a candle and play the beautiful CD he kindly sent to me to wish him well on his journey where I know his mum ,dad and sister Susan will be waiting for him with open arms .
