Having very fond memories of Leslie making printing plates on nights in the 1980s so I could get the press rolling and The Irish Times out on the street I was sadden to read of his passing. You always knew Les was on standby on start-up to ensure no plate remakes were necessary but more importantly so he could get the first copy,have his cut-line and do his beloved Simplex crossword in peace.
