Lester Horsfall

I offer Karen Linda Stephen and the extended Horsfall family my most sincere condolences upon the recent passing of Lester after his long illness. His sudden death must come as a severe shock to you all after such a long and very fulfilling life.

The happy and fun memories of Lester joking and laughing during and after Monkstown Hockey Club matches will always remain with me. Our active verbal encouragement to each other both on and off the hockey pitch helped win hockey matches while we played together on the senior teams for Monkstown during the 1990s and early 2000s. His warm company was always felt by home and visiting teams alike during the pint drinking sessions after club matches. His loss will be deeply felt by all those who knew him in Monkstown Hockey Club.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss Karen. I hadn't met Lester for a few years but whenever I did meet him, it was always so easy to pick up where we left off. We played a bit of golf and did a bit of business together. He was an amazing networker - one might say and Uber Networker.

I was so sorry to hear of Lester’s passing after his long and brave fight.

I have such fond memories of working with Lester as we developed Sharptext Distribution — his professionalism, humour and easy way with people always made everything better. He had a real gift for connecting with others and making work enjoyable.

Thinking of you all at this sad time and remembering Lester with great affection.

We were very sad to hear the news of Mr Horsfalls passing. Sending all of the family our love and condolences.

We have known Lester since 1986 when he came to work with us in Sharptext. Needless to say he became a good friend and work colleague. He proved to be a great networker long before the term was invented and made a great contribution to the business. After we moved on and retired we remained in contact over the years. He bore his long illness with courage and bravery and was always a pleasure to meet. Anytime I visited his home he always produced a good wine. An excellent host.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Lester's death.

I hadn't seen Lester since our schooldays and was looking forward to meeting him again at a school reunion last year but the event unfortunately clashed with Lester's holiday.

Lester was a decent man who I know will be sorely missed by all his many old school friends.

Very sorry to learn of Lester’s passing. I first got to know Lester as a member of Woodbrook Golf Club. We served on a number of committees together and he put his heart & soul into any tasks he got involved in.

I was deeply saddened on hearing of the death of Lester. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you, Karen, and your family during this difficult time. Although we had only met once since our school days, I'm truly grateful that we were able to reconnect these past couple of years. It gave us a wonderful chance to reminisce about old times and catch up on life. I always remember Lester as being extremely friendly, genuine and, above all, always very helpful.
