My thoughts are with all of Liam's family. I will miss my broadcasting buddy as we were like Batman and Robin. He was a true gentleman and you can see from all the comments here that he was loved by all. I loved broadcasting with him on Liffey Sound and always looked forward to the Lucan Festival or St Patrick's Day as I knew we would spending time together in the radio station and we would never run out of things to talk about both on air and off air.

He bore his illness with such courage and never ever complained. I will miss you Liamo. Rest in peace.

Very sad to learn of Liam’s passing. I have many memories of him from school days to nights in O’Neills. Liam was a true gent. Sincere sympathy to Liam’s family. It’s no accident that so many refer to him as “gentleman” for that he surely was. He first came to work in Liffey Sound as an administrator, a job he did with his quiet enthusiasm and typical politeness. When it was suggested to him that he do a bit of broadcasting, he couldn’t countenance this at all but it wasn’t, long before he was co-presenting a show and enjoying every minute of it . He subsequently went on to produce and present his own weekly three hour programme and co hosted several excellent outside broadcasts with his broadcasting buddy, Gary. He bore his illness with such tolerance and courage, and Indeed worked through much of it. Thanks Liam and rest now in peace.

loved and respected colleague. His deep knowledge of radio and music were reflected in the excellent programmes he presented.
Those who worked with him on these shows always referred to his gentle and kindly manner and steely determination and dedication to the project in hand. From all at 96.4, board, management, staff,presenters, volunteers and members
