Liam Fanning

I was shocked and saddened when I read of Liam’s passing. I didn’t know he had been sick. I offer my sincere condolences to Mary Ann and all the Fanning family. He was a true sincere gentleman who endeared himself easily to everybody who knew him. You wouldn’t want to be in a hurry when Liam needed to chat. He would light up your life and you would leave him fully enlightened. He will be sadly missed. May he Rest In Peace.

As a community, we are very sad to hear of Liam's passing. Liam and Donal Hayden did a huge amount of work on Ballythomas Community Field, for which we are extremely grateful. Liam was a true gentleman, who was always up for a chat, and was well known for his generosity.
My own girls have very fond memories of Liam in his many roles! As Santa, as host of Opportunity Knocks, at Kilanerin Field Day, as auctioneer, as photographer, etc, etc... and Liam giving them whatever change he had in his pocket when they were small! :)
