Saddened to hear of the death of Liam. Great memories of Liam in the Council where he was much respected for his advice. Particularly he was a fountain of knowledge at all the election counts over the years. Sincere sympathy to all the family.

I am saddened to hear of Liam's passing.
I first worked with him in the early 1980's in the Planning Office, he was my Boss.
He was a wonderful leader for us, his staff, treating us with respect and dignity, also showing a witty side to his character, this trait always to be fondly remembered.
His knowledge of "Local Authority" was vast which he readily shared when asked.
As the years went by our paths would cross and we would pick up where we left off something that I always appreciated.
Liam Kelly was a wonderful Boss and friend to me, I consider it an honour to have worked under his guidance and cherish the memory of a true gentleman and friend whom I will always fondly remember.
My deepest sympathy to you, Margaret and family on your sad loss.

When he heard I was from Collinstown he asked me to make sure to tell an old colleague from the council that Liam Kelly was asking for him and don’t forget! I happened to meet the man about a week later and told him. He spoke with great fondness for Liam and I was so glad I got to pass on the message.
