I extend my sympathy to Irene, Tríona, Doireann and Áine; to all the family and colleagues and to Marie, Kathleen, Anne, Paddy and John on Liam's death. I always looked forward to his visits to the office when we used manage his bits and bobs albeit that he would have the paperwork in pristine order anyway. More so it was warm hearted conversation that trumped poring over uninteresting predictable figures. Our last chat would have been in August of last year in Gowran, he and his entourage having spent the earlier part of the day checking out what Closutton had to offer. We really never did talk enough over the years and even if contestants on Desert Island Discs cannot choose to bring a friend to that hideaway it would have been special to hear about those African and Indian exploits in particular. Liam's death indeed leaves a great void.
To Irene and family, my deepest condolences on the passing of Liam, may he rest in peace.
Irene and family, I was shocked to hear that Liam had died two weeks ago. It’s not that long ago we met at Nass races and he always loved the chat. Good memories of meetings with him when we were H/ S/ C/ L coordinators. Another great man gone. May he rest in peace.
Irene, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you and the girls at this very sad time.
Thank you Mr Kilbride for being such an excellent memorable teacher. The best of the best and one i still talk about today with my own children. You made Geography fun and i still remember so many of your lessons even after all this time. You respected the students and were such a kind person. Condolences to the whole family. Celine
To Irene and family

Comhbhrón ó chroí do Irene,Tríona, Doireann, Âine agus an clann go léir as ucht bás Liam. Remembering Liam’s outstanding contribution to education, through his involvement with Presentation Schools. The many tributes from his past students attest to this.
Liam will be remembered fondly by all he encountered; as he worked with Sr Margaret Mary on the Challenge to Change annual project/ a thinking ahead of it’s time. Liam’s support to Sr Kathleen as she brought to fruition her exceptional Social Housing Pilot Project, will also be fondly remembered.
He served with distinction.
A man of hope and inner strength, his response to progress was always ‘that’s powerful’.

Sincerest condolences to you all on the passing of Liam, may he rest in peace
My deepest sympathy to the Kilbride family. Although I joined the staff after Liam left, I followed in his footsteps as a Geography teacher and Home School Liaison Coordinator and it was always a pleasure to meet him when he called into school in his role as a College advisor supporting young student teachers or as an advisor on the Challenge to Change programme. Liam wore his learning lightly but his warmth and wisdom touched many lives.
To Irene and to Tríona, Doireann, and Áine, and to the wider Kilbride family, please accept my deepest condolences on the very untimely passing of Liam.

Clearly in his life he made such a deep impression on so many people, and I include myself in that in the short interludes I had with him.

I hope that warm and fond memories of his, will help to ease his sudden loss for you all.
Sincere sympathy to Irene and family and to Liam’s extended family and friends. I knew him through Global Schoolroom where he was a mentor and an inspirational leader. His knowledge, understanding and clarity of thinking around education issues was profound. I always remember his saying that he saw himself as the ‘pebble in the shoe’, the person who kept reminding you of the key reasons why we were doing what we did. Unlike the pebble, his advice and direction was always delivered with great good humour. May his kind soul rest in peace.
Really sorry to hear of Liam's passing. I knew him through his work with Global Schoolroom and before that through education work. Always a kind, open and helpful man.
Sincerest condolences to you all on the passing of Liam, may he rest in peace

Sincere condolences to Irene, Triona, Doireann, Aine and all of Liam’s family and wide circle of friends on the sad passing of beloved Liam.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Liam’s death and remember him very much as a welcoming, kind, caring, humorous, insightful and wise colleague and valued friend. He leaves a lasting legacy too as an innovative educator, touching the lives of the countless students, staff and parents he worked with over the years in Warrenmount. He led the way in introducing the staff to Multiple Intelligences, numerous Erasmus projects, partnered with Sr. Margaret Mary Healy in leading the Challenge to Change Project, not to mention his trailblazing as the first Home School Community Co-ordinator in Warrenmount where he made an indelible and lasting mark in nurturing such positive and lasting partnerships between the home, school and community. This was further enhanced by his important work with Sr. Pauline Mc Galey in Warrenmount Adult Education Centre.

We will really miss Liam and are so thankful and privileged to have known him and worked alongside him in his many roles over the years. As many past pupils have testified, he was a truly inspirational educator and a very special person who has left a lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to have known him. The school community in Presentation Secondary School Warrenmount, Dublin 8 is thinking of you all at this very sad time and keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Our sympathy to Irene, Triona, Doireann, Aine, and all of Liam’s family at this very sad time.

Liam was a longtime friend and colleague, and while our relationship with him intersected his time in Warrenmount, in his so many different roles, it came to it’s greatest fruition during our time together in India and Africa.

Liam was one of the first Global Schoolroom tutors in Northeast India, traveling the length and breadth of Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura, and subsequently Uganda, sharing his experience and expertise with his Indian and African colleagues, in a respectful and collaborative way, which was part of his very being.

But Liam was also great fun, whether in the back of a jeep rattling along Jhagi Road through Nellie in Assam, sipping Tawny Port in Uganda, rambling along the Burning Ghats of Calcutta, or on Safari in Kenya.

And of course his innovation was legendary - his ability to hold interviews for a librarian in Hindi, his demonstration of drying socks by attaching them to a ceiling fan in Kampala, and his constant and ready supply of good quality toilet paper, wherever in the world he found himself.

Liam, we will miss you terribly, it was great when you were around - thanks for being part of our adventure.
Sincere condolences to the Kilbride family on the passing of Liam. Thinking of all the family at this time. May Liam rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to all of Liam's family. I have fond memories of my years with Liam in the Leaving Certificate class in St. Macartan's in Tallaght. He was kind and generous and had a great sense of humour.
May he rest in peace.
Dear Irene, Triona, Doireann and Aine. I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Liam's passing. My sincere condolences to you all. Liam was an incredible teacher and a good friend. He was passionate about teaching, had a constant smile, twinkling eyes, and deep deep reserves of patience and good humour which he used throughout his teaching particularly when dealing with the characters in our classes. It explains why there has been such an outpouring of love and sadness from the Warrenmount girls on hearing this very sad news. He treated us all with respect and kindness and inspired many of us to become teachers. His block diagrams and quirky phrases to help us remember facts are legendary and have been passed down to future generations. I am forever grateful to Liam for all his support throughout my time at Warrenmount, Trinity and my H.Dip year where he was a wonderful student teacher mentor. His kindness in ferrying me to and from school in his little blue Beetle when there were bus strikes and after I had a foot operation in 2nd Year, shows how he went above and beyond to help his students as well as being a good neighbour. If everyone was as kind, caring and supportive as Liam was, the world would be a much better place. I'm so sorry I can't say goodbye properly due to having Covid but I will keep you all in my prayers. Slán leat Liam. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a Anam dílis.
Sincere condolences to Anne and all the Kilbride family on the passing of Liam.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.
