Our sincere condolences to Suzie, Derek, Owen and the extended Lacey Droog families on the untimely passing of your beloved Liam.
Liam & I knew each other as toddlers when he lived in Catherine St and I lived in Roches St. We knew each other all through school and started the same week together in 1968 as Accountancy Students at W.H.O’Donnell & Co. Those were great days! I remember when we’d finish studies in the evenings at the office we’d go for a pint (or two) to Kennedy O’Brien’s. As poor students we’d pay for our pints standing on the lino at bar prices then step over to the carpet in the lounge section. Happy days!
Suzie’s wonderful eulogy summed Liam up to a tee, particularly when talking about Liam’s sense of humour and turn of phrase. I always remember when to explain Economics and the Law of Diminishing Returns Liam used to say that the first pint was always best and subsequent pints didn’t taste as good!
Liam you will be so sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to know you. May your gentle soul Rest in Peace.
