Betty, my old friend, am so sorry at the loss of Liam. You and I went to the same school since infants and never met until we were 18/19 at work. Your first chat with me had me rolling with laughter. We had some great times together. We still will. Liam swept you off your feet and you stole his heart. He’s now having a pint with Dave and both having a great time on a Guinness cloud in the sky. It’s so sad for you and the kids: Glynn, Evita and Diane, the grandkids and all the family. Hope to see you soon … Kerry for the holidays … Dublin for the cup, as Liam would say. Am so glad I got to see him a few weeks ago. R.I.P. Liamo.

My Dad, Dave, died just last month, and for some reason the only memory i have in the haze outside the funeral was a svelte, silver fox coming up and saying "Bébhinn. Guess who I am?". Liam was a sweetheart, and immediately felt like comfort and my childhood. My only memory of my confirmation, despite "going visiting" every family member possible, was the Teeling house in Kilcock. It wasn't just because the "bigger kids" were so cool (especially Diana and her oxblood doc martens I was coveting), it was because Liam was a giant ball of fun and energy. Pure charisma. I felt it straight away last month, after decades, even under horrible circumstances. I also remember Bettys warmth and zen that day, and always. Even as a kid I could see they were a perfect balance of yin and yang. Betty, I'm so glad you and my Mam have each other right now. It's a horrible shock for everyone and to Glyn, Evita and Diana, I'm so deeply sorry for your loss and what you're going through right now. We're only a month ahead of you in this horrible process, but I promise you it already feels less intense and brutal. There are ups and downs, but it will soften. Thinking of you all, and still wanting those doc martens. Rest in power Liam.

Deeply saddened by Liam's sudden passing. Only spoke on Saturday. He was a real character. Never let you pass by without passing the time of day and putting the world to rites. I'll miss our little chats around our blocked drains. He will be greatly missed from all who knew him. Our thoughts are with Betty and familly.
