Your mam would come to collect you in the evenings and had a little pet name for each of you. Her sheer joy at seeing you all at the end of her working day was something i always remembered. Liam was a good manager, always eager to help and rarely seen sitting still. He enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge, aswell as his mad stories! When Liam was on duty, you knew the day would go well.
Often up to mischief, Liam connected so well with his patients, making them feel comfortable and brightening their day. He was an inspirational nurse and you could see how much the patients liked him.
It's said to think I'll no longer hear his "yes boss" or "How'ya horsheen?" on the unit.

Rest in peace Liam, you'll be missed.

I worked with Liam many years ago in Telfords and we struck up a great friendship. He was always easy going and welcoming and kind . We had many great nights and chats! I thought of him often over the years since and wondered how he was getting on . I’m so very sorry to hear of his tragic passing , a life’s journey cut short far too soon. I had the privilege of working alongside Liam in GUH over 10 years ago and witnessed firsthand what a dedicated and compassionate nurse he was.

On a personal note, Liam had cared for my father-in-law, Paddy Walsh since he began dialysis 18 months ago in Wellstone Clinic. We as a family are so grateful for the outstanding kindness and care Liam gave throughout this time.
