I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Liam's family. He was a true magpie - black and white to the core. I worked with Liam in Assmann Electronics/Overland Bolling. He was a pleasure to work with as you always knew where you stood with him. He wasn't one thing today and something else tomorrow. We had some fun doing stocktakes at year end but he knew everything about every part. As far as the yanks were concerned - he was by far the most important person in the building given his role as shop steward and their lack of knowledge about unions. The fact that he could look after them down in the Queen's hotel didn't deflect from his importance. RIP Dano - a proper old school Clarecastle stalwart.

I lost contact with Liam for many years, but in recent times met him frequently in Clare Hill cemetery while we were both visiting our parent’s graves. He always had a smile and a good word for everyone. Rest in peace Liam. I’ll drop by for a chat the next time I’m in Clare Hill.
