My sincere condolences on the passing of Liam 'Lilo'. I have fond memories of Liam growing up and spending time at Middle Third, always a very welcoming home to spend time at. Liam was a great character with a terrific knowledge and love of transport and railway history in Ireland. I remember being brought on a tour of the West of Ireland with Lilo, Tricky and Co. to chart the journey of the Sugar Beet trains and was introduced to Liam's favourite I think.... a thumper. We're going on chase I was told, and sure it was. I don't think I've met a more eclectic bunch ever since but what a memory of great craic, camaraderie and the thrill of the chase, with Lilo at the wheel of the Ford Fiesta, the heart of it all.

To Ger and family, so sorry for your Dad's passing. May he rest in peace and enjoy the eternal 'chase' in heaven. God bless.

I got to know him even better from the mid 1990s to 2008 when we met on most days aboard the 7:00 ex-Heuston service (I was commuting from Thurles to Limerick whilst Liam was guiding tourists on Railtours Ireland services to Cork/Galway). So sorry to see you have gone to your eternal home to rejoin your family who have gone before you. May the Lord JesusChrist open his arms wide to let Liam in. Liam wasa man of great faith. He not only helped behind the sceens of the Altar but he worked with FuneralTeam as well. He delivered the messenger booklet around his Customers in Killester from St Brigids Cathoic Church and was alwayso pleasant and courteous. His biggest passion were his photography and steam trains. A job he was very good at.
