I was so saddened to hear news of Liam’s passing. Thinking of you Gráinne, Will and family at this terrible time.
Liam was always so warm and kind to me personally. I can still picture his face smiling in semi-amusement the night that you came home from a night out to find your precious baby (Will) face down like a starfish on the sitting room floor behind me, and I perched on the armchair with my tea watching TV?!?
I don’t know who was more startled, but Liam took it all in his stride and after swiftly scooping up the babe in blue, insisted not only on walking me home (even though I only had to cross the road to 3 Beverly), but overpaying me (for clearly under delivering) and then, to add further surprise to shock, invite me back the next time to show me there were no hard feelings!
Liam’s extraordinary characteristics of kindness, generosity and decency all displayed in a single incident, when he could have been justifiably dismayed by his teenaged babysitting neighbour.
You will be fondly remembered Liam.
