I recognised him from many gigs over the years but I only spoke to Liam for the first time recently at a gig in Limerick and then a second time a few weeks later. He was such a nice guy. I was looking forward to bumping into him at many more gigs in the future.

Liam was always an amazing energy singing along to songs at our gigs. He believed in us from the very start and I’m so honoured that I got to meet such an incredibly passionate kind man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends

Only ever chatted to Liam a few times at gigs. Great conversation. Always knew I was in for a good gig when I would see him. A true staple of the Irish music scene. It fills me with sadness knowing that he has passed and I won't see him at gigs anymore. Wishing his family and loved ones my condolences.

Liam, from the time you appeared down our back lane on Dollyer Ave, you were a favourite with the Cotters. Never without a smile, always in great form. Legend at the Grove, the Cricket and the Youth Club. Best prank ever: ringing random numbers and blasting Deep Purple down the phone! Pleasure and privilege to have known you. RIP
