To Jane and Family, While I never met Liam, I attended only a few concerts in the Concert Hall and the sound of the pipes took me to another place. I often listen to the recording of Newfoundland and play it over and over because I enjoy it so much. Listening to tribute programmes over the last few days sum up Liam as a lovely man and a true gentleman. God rest him and give you comfort.
— George Begley
May Liam rest in peace. It was a privilege to listen to him play.
— Anne Lee
Ever since I heard Liam playing The Brendan Voyage in the early 80s I have been a fan. Thank you Liam for sharing your talent, giving me countless hours and hours of enjoyment as I listened to your beautiful, unique and distinctive playing of the uilleann pipes. The musical world has lost a musical genius who was first and foremost a gentleman. I am so sad. My deepest sympathy to Jane and family. JM.

Jane, my deepest sympathy to you and all the family on loosing Liam.
I first met Liam many years ago when Aer Lingus Cara magazine comissioned me to photograph him. On meeting him he put me at ease straight away saying that he knew me through my photography of traditional musician. We became friends there and then. He later came to my house and purchased work for the walls of your home in Kill.
I'm sorry I cannot be there to pay my respects in person to Liam as I'm away in the States for the month. Liam was a gentleman and an inspiration to all who were privileged to be in his presence. His music speaks for itself and his legacy will live forever. I will be thinking of him tonight when we play a concert in a church in Manhattan.
