Ciara, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear father. You were my best ever Irish teacher and I have always credited my good grasp on Irish to you. A teaching ethic inspired by your father, no doubt, who also taught at the boys' school while my younger brother was there. May your Dad rest in eternal peace. Thinking of you and your family at this very hard time.

Just after hearing about this now. Very upset. Liam was my teacher for 2 years in 1979-80. He was a superb teacher. In our year he married Valerie. When it came to end of sixth class there was tears all round. He was brilliant and much of what I achieved since goes back to his time as my teacher. So sorry to hear, may he rest in peace.

Mr O Gorman was my 5th and 6th class teacher 2004/2005. He taught me what it meant to be a young man and how to carry myself with confidence. A very kind man to my family and such a staple to the community. Sympathies to his family.
