Liam Paul McGowan

So sorry to hear about Liam. My abiding memories of him, are of the sweet and adorable little blonde haired boy, across the road from us in Durham rd. My late parents Harry and Nuala were mad about him. My own husband passed away this time last year, and I felt he was cheated at 64. Liam was so much younger, and had so much more yet to enjoy.

My deepest sympathies to the McGowan family on the sad and sudden loss of Liam. I knew him growing up, a great friend to my brother, John, and he was often in our house at 18 Durham Road. He was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

Shocked and very sad on Liam's passing. Heartfelt condolences to Mieke and Dylan. I knew Liam from a very early age. We both grew up on Durham Road, Sandymount. We shared a surname, but not related.
Caught up with Liam just a few years ago after a long gap. Wonderful fellow who will be fondly remembered but greatly missed.

Meike and Dylan, I'm so very sorry for your sad loss. Liam was a humble, decent and genuine man I had the pleasure to know at work over the past 17 years. He was proud of his family and lit up whenever discussing Dylan over the years. He will be greatly missed.

It was with great shock and sadness that I heard of the sad passing of
Liam, at such a young age. I knew Liam from the day he was born so its very hard to think he was taken so soon.

To Meike and Dylan, my deepest sympathy on the sudden loss of your husband and dad. I worked with Liam on the NLN finance team for almost 10 years. He always spoke about Dylan with such love, be it stories about camping trips, leaving cert results, college and your part time job. He will be forever proud of you.

He will be sadly missed by all his collegues and friends but his memory will live on.

Dear Meike and Dylan,
I was shocked to discover the news on Facebook of Liam's passing. I am so sorry to hear this unexpected news. I can only imagine the grief at the loss of your dad, Dylan, and your husband, Meike, and I'm sure this is not an easy time. I do remember Liam from when the lads had playdates years ago. He was always good-natured and friendly, a lovely person. It is such a sadness. Johnny has recently moved to Dublin. I hope it's ok for me to let him know the funeral details, and he can attend if he's free.

Like many people in National Learning Network I had a long working relationship with Liam and deeply respected his competency and advice. He was my ‘go to’ for all NLN head office Budget details each year and for updates on P&Ls each month.

Liam was always so kind and understanding of all the many asks we made of him and was always such a kind and compassionate colleague.
He will be greatly missed and deeply grieved by all of us in NLN.
