Alice ...I have only just heard the sad news of Liam's passing. I have such good memories of him going back to the 70's when, as Chaplain in a Boys School in Crumlin...now Pearse College...I used to bring many of the boys to The Olympic for the Roller Skating...Liam always looked after us ...Always so welcoming and generous too..my grandfather was a proud Tipperary man..so Liam and I had a lot in common...a man of deep faith, The Good Lord would have recognised him very easily when he arrived at Heaven's gates..and no doubt dressed impeccably for his journey home to God...God rest you, Liam, you made a difference in so many ways...Thanks for the memories...Joe, Mount Argus.

Liam was a Gentleman and I had the pleasure of meeting him along with my late husband Peter back in the 70's when he brought the great showbands to St Joseph's Hall Blessington.

It was only today, November 2nd, that I learned of the recent passing of a real genuine Gentleman, Liam Ryan, may he rest in peace.

Just read in S World the death of Liam Ryan . My sympathies. I knew Liam for many years. I was once entertainment manager in Old Shieling, Raheny and many a night when there was a big show on , Liam would call around. We always finished up with a cup of tea. a chat and a laugh. He was a shrewd music promoter. While my son attended UCDin the 1980’s he organised a few dances in Olympia for Liam. A ballroom full of students and Liam loved it. May he Rest in Peace.

Alice, so sorry to hear of Liams passing. Liam had many friends from all walks of life, and when you were in his company you got the feeling that you were his only special friend. Well over 60 years ago Liam was MY first friend when I came ‘up ‘ to Dublin at 17 years of age... He was a very generous and charitable person ...he paid for my first suit of clothes.... someone whom we would all aspire to be... He had a special place in his heart for his mother and made a fuss of all mothers. He was a great man for a joke and was always up for a good laugh and was full of fun..He never ‘ took ‘ to the stage but he stole the show every time...
Liam n I had great times in the sixties going to all the dance halls.... The Irish Club, The National, Kiltoom, Rolestown, Palm Beach, Portmarnock and The Ierne, not forgetting the Olympic where later on our four daughters enjoyed roller skating with all their friends.
Dolores n I were delighted to have him at our Wedding in 1966.. he was our unofficial camera man taking a Cine 8 movie...
