We are so heartbroken for all the Hearns family today. Des was a wonderful person and we have great memories to cherish. I remember all the great summer holidays down with Maeve and Des. Those were such good times with Des always giving us a laugh calling Gillian nose blower and Ratbag for myself. We are thinking of you all and sending lots of love.

You won't know me, but I have had the privilege of getting to know Des through online singing sessions over the past year. His humor and grace made him a favorite for those of us from around Ireland, America, Canada, Australia, Scotland and England who gathered to share songs and stories on Zoom. We held a lovely session in his honor on Saturday, attended by his brother Vincent, and I want to send you all my condolences on your loss. We will miss him greatly but his memory will live on in all our hearts!
