I met her the last time I was in Adare & was telling her that my sister, Phil, in Perth had met a young girl from Kilfinny & the chat with them was Lizzie O'Dea! I had a sore eye one time & called in to Miss Curtains Pharmacy, Lizzie looked at the eye, removed a turned in eyelash, so gently, I didnt feel it & advised me not to use mascara again & I never did. May Lizzie Rest in Peace. 🙏 🙏

We were all so saddened to hear of Lizzie’s passing on Sunday last, poignantly while we were holding our annual Kitty Cavanagh Memorial Parish League.

Lizzie will never be forgotten by us. She has left an amazing legacy in Adare and given so many girls throughout the years the most wonderful memories and friendships.
She was, to us, quite simply one in a million and we were so lucky to have had her. We were honoured to have been able to see her on her way in the manner she deserved.

On behalf of The Friends of St. Ita’s Community Hospital, Newcastle West I would like to extend our most sincere condolences to Josie and Catherine sisters of dear Lizzie who very sadly passed away on Sunday last. Also to the extended family, relations and wide circle of friends. I had the great pleasure of knowing Lizzie whom I first got to know as a patient here in St. Ita’s Rehab Unit a number of years ago and we became great friends. Lizzie was a great character, full of fun and the life and soul of Rehab while here. We kept in contact and she went on to be a great supporter of “The Friends “ and helped out At many of our Church Gate collects included one in Kilfinny only a couple of weeks before she was admitted to hospital. Lizzie will indeed be very sadly missed by many but there is comfort in the thought she is now gone from the pain and suffering of this world to her Heavenly Home which she has truly earned and richly deserves - Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.
