Lorna Kelly

I knew Lorna from her days working as a manager in the Notting Hill Music and Goods Exchange. She was a stoic and effective manager. I respected and admired her competence and ability to cut through the BS. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but when the terrible Grenfell tragedy occurred, Lorna was the first on the scene with boxes of clothes and shoes for the displaced. She was tireless in her quest to help people. Her kindness at Grenfell did not go unnoticed and shortly after; she was snapped up by an MP from the Labour party. We were sorry she was leaving because the place practically fell apart without her but proud that one of our own was making waves in the political arena. I'll always remember her -it was only when I mentioned her name to Brian this morning-months after her death- that he told me the terrible news. So young and with so much to live for, I'm beyond devastated. We will never forget you Lorna. God bless your soul.

I was Lorna's manager since she joined FSRH three years ago. First and foremost I want to express my sorrow for Lorna's untimely passing. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Lorna and I worked very closely, and may I take this opportunity to state from the heart that Lorna was consistently a joy to work with. She worked hard, learned fast, and was ever-helpful to both those above and below her, rarely saying 'no' to requests when others may have. As a font of knowledge across the organisation, with Lorna in our little team our foundations felt strong as we broadened and developed. In her I also knew I also had an opinion that I could trust, as well as someone whose creative brain always yielded many astute ideas, many of which will be carried on, in effect, a legacy to her admirable ability to generate and accomplish great concepts.

Lorna took busy days in her stride, forever maintaining a professional and amiable outlook. We spoke on many occasions as to her passion for social justice and reproductive rights, and that she considered working at FSRH her "dream job". She was promoted twice in two years, and that in itself says a great deal about how we valued her.

I hope you will find some comfort in the warm words I only have to say about Lorna both as a person and as a professional.

We miss her very much as a colleague and friend, and will continue her work with gusto and fortitude as we know she would want.

I am so sorry to hear about Lorna’s untimely death. Lorna and I met up in London several times following our cousin Fiona’s death and she was always caring and compassionate and lots of fun.
