It was a shock when Graham contacted me with the sad news.

Its almost 50 years since we first met when I was with Gallagher Group. In the years following our professional relationship grew into a friendship. After moving to Florida we continued to communicate and he even paid me a visit here. I in turn would always drop by his office when visiting Dublin, where he always made me welcome no matter how busy he was.

Over the years I came to appreciate not only that he was a Lawyer with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, but possessed great wisdom, warmth and a somewhat dry sense of humor!

I almost admired his penchant for large French Citroen Cars which reflected his elegant demeanor!
Louis, a Gentleman - I miss you!

We are all so very sorry to hear of dear Uncle Louis’ passing and our hearts go out to Auntie Sheila, Graham, Lindsay and family. He was a true gentleman and I will always remember him as an intelligent, kind, considerate and generous uncle who always looked out for my brother Laurence and myself after our own father’s passing. He will be much missed and will never be forgotten. God bless you Uncle Louis x

So sorry to hear this news. Louis, as has been said, was a man of great style and kindness. He always was there to help with any questions or problems we may have encountered in work. Running errands could involve anything from dry cleaning to collecting parts for his car! Always had a smile and will be missed by all.

May I offer you Sheila and your family my sincerest condolences on the death of Louis whom I knew and respected in a professional and personal capacity as partner of Anthony and John a fine lawyer, principled and cerebral man. May he rest in deserved peace. And to you Sheila whom I remember as a child in the 50’s and 60’s as close neighbours in Wellington Road, and to say thank to your late father who kindly gave us eggs and cream from Pasteur Dairy at a discount for years following my father’s death, to assist an indigent widow. I am so very sad to hear of Louis's passing. I was his apprentice many moons ago and he was such a great teacher and mentor, friend and support. A man of great individual style, I never met anyone since who wore driving gloves with such panache! I have only the fondest of memories. My sympathies to his family.

Very sorry to hear that Louis has died. I have known Louis for more than 70 years both at Glenstal and as my partner in Gore & Grimes.
He had a lot of style…he was one of the few people I knew who smoked Balkan Sobranies.
He was a fine lawyer and greatly respected by his many clients
