May I offer my sincere sympathy to Lucy's family and friends. RIP.
I am sorry to read of her death. Lucy had a wonderful positivity about life and living which was infectious. And never a cross word! She retained enviable energy into her later years.
Over many decades she was a frequent visitor to Bray Public Library, always in good form. We did enjoy our attempts to solve Lucy's crosswords, in which she took such great pleasure, and indeed had many successes.
More recently I would have met Lucy and had a few chats on Main St, Bray.
Her passing makes our world a poorer place.
May her happy and gentle soul have Eternal Rest.

Dear Graham and Mary, I was so happy to have been able to go to Lucy’s mass this morning. You were both great despite the sadness and turned a sad moment into a celebration of her life. I have so many wonderful memories of Lucy, especially as Cormac and Fionán’s ‘extra gran’ as they called her.
The first time I met her was with you Graham, winter of 1988, as you both hurtled down the very snowy hill, tobogganing on empty fertiliser bags. She was having a ball!
The loveliest piece of advice she ever gave me was how to deal with life’s worries: You close your eyes and think of God, imagine placing your worries on a dinner plate. Then tell God it’s their turn to take them as you visualise passing over the plate. It was a perfect example of her faith.
Fionán and I were so happy to have had the chance to see her at home with Mary some time back.

My condolences to Lucys family. She was a very interesting person. I used to help her do her crosswords in the library and got to know her from that. I was always amazed by her energy. May she rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to Lucy's family. A lovely lady. We remember her well ..a strong character who walked everywhere & we would see her regularly walking to Church in Kilmac. If we saw her on the way home from either Church or with bags from shopping would offer a lift & she always had a story & very happy disposition. May she RIP.

Im a volunteer in the coffee dock in the holy redeemer Bray where Lucy was one of our regulars, she always had a smile on her face & when id ask her how she was she would say " all the better for seeing you" she had a great sence of humour & id asked her if she would like another cup of tea, she would say " id be piddling all the way home" i had the absolute privilege of knowing Lucy she was a beautiful soul.
