Lucy was a kind hearted, generous woman who loved her knitting. She moved to rural living in Burncourt from Dublin with ease and loved meeting people for a chat. The Day Care centre was ideal for her in so many ways, which she enjoyed.

It was with deep sadness that the news of Lucy Croker’s passing was received during the week. A Dublin woman to the core who came to live with her daughter Alison and family in Burncourt a number of years ago, she adapted well to rural life. Having suffered many trials in life with the deaths of daughters Jacqueline and Denise and son baby Christopher, Lucy was still able to look forward with generousity and respond to the needs of others. A skilled seamstress and knitter, Lucy was rarely without her needles creating comforting clothing and lap blankets for the little babies in the neonatal units. Lucy was a pleasure and joy to meet and talk with and her weekly visits to the Vee Valley Day Care Centre saw her open hearted and spirited approach to life at its best. Dear Lucy who for so many exemplified the principle of Fortitude in Adversity May You Rest in Peace.Our deepest sympathy to daughter Alison, son Alan, son in-law Mark, daughter in-law Caitriona, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
