I would like to say just how amazing a person Mrs Lucy Daish was. My best friend's mum and my neighbour. I spent most of my childhood going from my house to yours, it was an ‘open door policy’ and you always welcomed me with kindness, a smile, and a chat. You introduced me to melon and would invite me to stay for dinner on chicken curry night because you knew I loved it and your homemade brown bread or pies would, on a number of occasions be divided so that I could take some home with me, you never complained when Babs and I used to mess up your kitchen when we'd make our ‘chocolate shite’ cake.. Called that as we never had the patience for it to cool before putting on the chocolate butter icing, so it would fall apart! Lovely childhood memories, into adulthood and onto when I became a mum myself you gifted me with what was my favourite outfit to put on my baby. There are no words to describe the loss that your family and friends feel right now! But I hope some comfort comes from the memories and the love they felt from you and that you also know how much you were also loved back in return!
