My name is Frank Young and I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to you all on the very sad passing of Lucy.
I first met Lucy in 1956 when I was drafted –as a Leaving Cert student- to play Giuseppe opposite Lucy’s Tessa in the King’s Inn St. Past Pupils production of The Gondoliers. (The original cast member had fallen ill two or three weeks prior to opening and I had played the part in the Belvedere College production some months earlier)
Lucy was very kind and helpful to me and it was a great thrill for me to play opposite a real girl!
Our paths regularly crossed in subsequent years when I met Lucy and Joe at various business events.
Our last meeting was sadly at Joe’s funeral.
Regrettably, as I’m recovering from major surgery, I will not be able to attend the ceremonies but please be assured of my prayers for the happy repose of her gentle soul.
