It’s with great sadness that we learned of Luke’s passing. He was a regular visitor to The Acres Driving Range and always a pleasure to spend time with. Luke cherished the friendships that golf brought him and never failed to brighten our days with his smile and wonderful stories from his life in golf. My sincere sympathies on Luke's passing. Your Dad was a longstanding Secretary of the Limerick Chemist's Golfing Society. I remember postcards arriving at the shop with details of upcoming outings or meetings. Also, we overlapped for several years as colleagues in the city. Then again we met so often at Limerick Golf Club. I remember especially him playing with your Mum, Breda, in later years and again, great chats in the Clubhouse, right up to a few months ago. He told me that his secret for longevity was a bowl of porridge every morning. (I hope it's OK to share that!) He was very supportive and kind when i was elected Captain in November. He will be hugely missed around the Club. Dermot describes him as everybody's friend. May he rest in peace.
