Lovely Luke , always kind and funny and a sharp eye for details . So much knowledge, and so many stories but my favourite was you know all the poems my Nana used to recite and we often went through the verses of my favourite and you could fill in all the gaps for me .
Or you regaled with stories of Biko when you knew how inspiring I found him .
Luke the legend , you will be so missed , you were so loved . Rest in peace dear Luke .
My deepest condolences to all your family .
Luke was kind, generous, and so, so witty. He was a great leader on the set, with his vast knowledge, experience, and with his cool, can-do ability. He was always a gentleman to everyone. He brought his professionalism (and his crossword) as routine to every day of the job. No matter how hectic it got on set Luke would make it alright.
He was also very respectful of those starting out, so is it any wonder that we all loved him. And of course he was so much fun! He was adored by his partner in pranking our Donal.
Luke leaves a wonderful legacy. Sending much love to Jo and to all Luke’s family. May Luke RIP. Charlotte, Michael, Joe and Finn Gilligan.

He was a much respected member of the film industry over many years.
May God bless and sustain you all in your sad loss.
Luke was a legend. I remember he used to do the Irish Times crossword puzzle (the hard one!) in his lunch breaks. He was so kind & inclusive especially to younger people on set. And he was hands down one of the best pranksters. Also a towering talent at his job - being a Grip. He wore his expertise so lightly & there was no ego. I feel sorry for the newer generations of Irish film industry crews who will never know him. Huge sympathy to all his family & friends xx
