I was so shocked to hear of Luke’s sudden passing , I remember being at the afters of his wedding and enjoying the Rockabilly music with some guests dressed in the style .It was a great fun night .

Truly gutted for you all. I first met Luke 35 years ago when we were nippers and many fun times were shared. He was always funny and charming, as well as being one of the decent ones. Will always remember our bus trip up to Donegal in the company of Mr. Strongbow and Merrydown. Sadly we lost touch in recent years since I moved to London but I remember the good times with fondness in my heart. Fly high old friend. x

Thanks Luke for all the great gigs over the years and years, you were a true champion of independent bands. It's a shame you never did make it back to Dingwalls. Thanks for always being inclusive, never running with the herd and generally being punk a F&*! . Dublin will miss you dearly and all that you did for culture and good times.

Luke was a gentleman. A genuine, honest man, and a good friend for many years. Everybody connected to Dublin's music scene knew him, and he was liked by all for his honesty, his unique sense of humour and his positive outlook on life. It's so sad he's been taken away from us at such a young age. Sincerest sympathy to Anita and Darcie. We'll never forget you Luke. RIP.

We are shocked and heartbroken to hear of Luke’s passing. We all send our deepest sympathies to you Anita, Darcie and your families. The social restrictions at this time add another layer of pain and grief, but know that you have our support now and we will be together again soon. So many fond memories of Luke; his love for Anita and Darcie, music, animals (except for one particular cat I recall that had it in for him!) and cakes...and mum’s brown bread. Always enjoyed the after school chats, laughs and banter. His kindness and care of Alanna on scores of play dates - always a fight getting her to leave!! The chats with Liam about Star Wars. On one of our last visits, when Luke heard Liam was getting into vinyl, he gave him an LP from his collection (ok he was happy to part with The Beatles freebie.....but still!!!). A gentleman. One in a million.

I was completely lost for words hearing about Luke’s passing. Living in Canada the last 5 years he had both my bands over here come and play in Dublin which to me was huge. He always said yes without fail. Such a loss for the Irish music scene. I first met Luke when my band Cheap Freaks played retro revival indie club as many times as we did years back! I remember thinking to myself getting paid that it was so outrageously generous for a Dublin club to be looking after bands as well as he did (it’s rare!). We chatted online about music often enough and even that was such a pleasure! A genuine all round nice guy it hurt me hearing the news. My condolences to his family at this terrible time. Taken too soon RIP Luke The Mummies will always be for you!

Luke was definitely one of a kind, we share many fond memories of him. Him being funny as anything, laconic, steadfast in his opinions on bands but always willing to hear what you had to say. He never waivered in his support of bands, or friends. That was Luke to us.
