Dear Ronnie, Stephen and Alison,
I am so sorry to hear of Lyral's passing. She was such an inspiration both as a friend and teacher. She was always interested in her past pupils progress through life and would on Sunday after Church ask about them. Lyral was a great help to our family particularly in understanding Sarah's dyslexia and sourcing a place for her in St. Oliver Plunkett Special School. The transfer there was the making of Sarah. So many times she would ask about Sarah and even though I would try to ask her how she was, she rarely talked about herself. She was such a lovely woman.

Our sincerest sympathy to Ronnie and family on the passing of dear Lyral. Such a lovely woman of God.
Ronnie, Stephen and Alison, I am so sorry to hear about Lyral’s passing. She really was the most lovely person and an inspirational teacher. I have the fondest memories of her as my 1st Class teacher and even before that, when she ran the Sunday School in Kill O’ the Grange from the old PE hall. She was so encouraging to me when I was training as a teacher and I spent time working with her on a special education placement where I saw first hand her dedication, care and expertise. I learned so much from her during that time and still remember how impressively she got the very best out of every child she worked with in her firm, yet kind, gentle, good humoured and encouraging way. Her pupils all adored her and I can only imagine at how many lives she has impacted through her work. In the years since, she remained such an encouraging support and was always so interested to hear about what I was doing in my own school. Lyral was a much loved friend of my mother, who I know will miss her very deeply. Lyral was such a very special person. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
