I was sad to hear of Macdara’s death.

I taught him many years ago in Mount Sackville National School.

He was a great friend of mine growing up in Palmerstown. So many great memories, too many to mention, but I have to say the band and him singing is the stand out one.

I was truly shocked to hear that Macdara had passed. He was a wonderful warm and caring person. I have a lot of great memories of him as part of the scene in Dublin in the eighties and nineties. My deepest condolences to Brónach and the extended Doyle family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Macdara worked closely and productively with the Dublin Council of Trade Unions as Campaigns Officer of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and convenor of the Raise The Roof housing campaign. His commitment, efficiency, friendliness and skills at coordinating, and getting the best out of, complex meetings and initiatives will be sorely missed in the trade union and housing movements.
